We are a PBL school. That stands for Project-Based Learning.
Once each semester, we invite the community to come in the evening to see our work. Teachers are around, but we, the students, run the event. Each subject has a booth or a room, and student docents welcome our guests and explain what they are seeing.
And, yes, we dress up!
Our 8th graders have been exploring Desmos, a graphing technology, in their Pre- Algebra class. They study only linear equations in Pre-Algebra, but through Desmos, they are able to explore the graphs of higher degree equations and even trig functions. Their creations are quite impressive.
